Join a life-changing 4-month online training to deepen your own healing journey + open up new career possibilities.
Taught by Alex Howard and Anna Duschinsky, co-creators of Therapeutic Coaching, this training moves beyond just ideas and theories and focuses on how to be effective in the real world of therapeutic change.
Therapeutic Coaching integrates key principles of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), hypnotherapy, developmental psychology, life coaching, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and mindfulness training, to help people live a healthier, happier and more relaxed life.
This Level 1 training is the required starting point for anyone wishing to become a Therapeutic Coach. By learning at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home, you can learn powerful tools to not just change your own life, but also start your journey to becoming a practitioner.
by using developmental psychology
with coaching-based methodologies
by practising mindfulness training
EFT is a particularly powerful way to work with past memories which have been undigested and so hold us back from living our real potential.
NLP is most famous for its ability to wipe out life-long phobias in as little as a few minutes, but it also has groundbreaking applications in a whole range of areas.
Hypnosis taught on our programmes is permissive and empathic, and so although still very powerful, it is driven by ethics and compassion.

This first module is an introduction to the key principles and skills that underpin Therapeutic Coaching. You will learn how to set up a session and build rapport with your client, along with questions to elicit your understanding of what is truly going on for your client. You will also learn powerful mindfulness techniques to help develop your own capacities to emotionally hold and stay present with clients.
This module is an introduction to the foundational NLP concepts of how we create our experiences, emotional responses, and behaviour. With conscious awareness of our “state” and all that influences it, we are able to empower ourselves and our clients to become proactive rather than reactive in our/their inner experience.
Module 3 builds on Module 2 to explore powerful techniques for creating lasting change in our thinking and behaviours. You will learn how to map your clients' thoughts and belief patterns, and then develop effective interventions for creating change. In particular you will focus on the STOP Process, a key technique in the Therapeutic Coaching toolkit.
In this module we explore the sensitive and complex area of how to work with our emotions. Whereas some popular psychology approaches talk of “positive” and “negative” emotions, we believe that all emotions serve a purpose, and learning to understand, feel and process, all of our emotions is a much healthier and more effective approach.
No, you don’t! We have people from a diverse range of backgrounds attend our training. We have those who are entirely new to the field, along with qualified therapists, coaches, psychologists and doctors who want to learn the Therapeutic Coaching methodology. Please note that you do need to be accepted to graduate to our Level 2 and Level 3 trainings, but you will be taught all that is required to do so.
Time spent doing the course is made up of watching the module videos, reading some accompanying notes, practising the tools you're learning and joining the live Q&As via Zoom.
The Q&As are once a month (with two time options - you are welcome to join both) and last for 1.5 hours. The module videos are released once a month and range from 5 to 8 sub-modules between from 20 minutes to 1 hour in length.
The idea is that you work through one module per month as they're released. Time spent covering materials and practising the tools is up to the individual student and therefore we do not prescribe a specific number of hours as this may vary from student to student.
It is also worth noting that you have lifetime access to materials, and that at Level 1 you can choose when you are ready to join Level 2 (subject to being accepted).
Yes! A number of our students join our training solely to help deepen their own healing journey and self-development. Indeed, applying the tools to oneself is one of our 3 pillars, and is heavily emphasised throughout the training. If you have energy/time constraints due to this, please note that you have lifetime access to Level 1 and can progress at your own pace.
Yes – over the years we’ve had many counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, coaches, doctors and psychiatrists take the training so they can integrate the Therapeutic Coaching approach into their already existing practice. Often they have studied elements of the training, but are excited to learn a comprehensive framework which pulls everything together.
If you complete Level 3 of the Therapeutic Coaching course, you will receive a certificate to practise as a Certified Therapeutic Coach. Should you decide to finish your training with us at Level 2, you can also receive a certificate of attendance (available upon request). Please note that at Levels 1 and 2 there is not a certificate to practise as a Therapeutic Coach, as you require clinical-level training to do this safely.
No, you don’t! Levels 1 and 2 are completed entirely online from the comfort of your own home. Live webinar times are also offered in multiple time zones. If you choose to attend Level 3 you will need to attend a 5-day in-person residential in the UK (international options may be added in time).
The areas covered by our courses are self-regulated, and we have made every effort to work with the best governing bodies available, specifically focusing on organisations that insist on clinically based training. The coaching element of the course is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The EFT elements of our courses are covered by EFT International. Our Level 3 course is accredited by the BIH (British Institute of Hypnotherapy). Completion of the Therapeutic Coaching Level 3 course therefore supports your application for membership of some or all of those governing bodies.
The Therapeutic Coaching methodology has been used with 10,000+ clients in 50+ countries at The Optimum Health Clinic for 20 years. By bringing together the best of mindfulness, therapy and coaching, this is a model which gets results where others have failed. If you are serious about making lasting change, this is the program for you.
